Hardware-grade iron is not medical-grade steel. It is not suitable for internal use or breaking the skin.

Do not strike or apply heavy pressure directly over "thin-skinned" areas like the shins, elbows, or spine. Focus on fleshy areas like the thighs, buttocks, or pectorals.

Iron is porous and can rust. Because of this, "found" or hardware-store nails require specific preparation:

Check for burrs or sharp edges from the manufacturing process. Use a fine-grit sandpaper or a metal file to smooth any rough spots on the head or shaft.
