The ICARUS experiment (Imaging Cosmic And Rare Underground Signals) uses a massive 760-ton liquid-argon detector to study neutrinos . Originally located at Italy’s Gran Sasso National Laboratory, it was refurbished at CERN and now operates at Fermilab near Chicago to search for elusive "sterile" neutrinos. ICARUS
