While locked away, Arisu uses his deductive skills to realize that the game isn't just about murder—it’s about testing the players' hearts and their willingness to turn on one another.
The militia, led by Aguni and the sociopathic Niragi, decides that the most efficient way to find the Witch is to kill everyone and burn all the bodies. A brutal massacre begins throughout the hotel.
The survivors carry Momoka’s body to the fire, ending the game. As The Beach burns to the ground, Arisu and Usagi discover a hidden control room filled with murdered "dealers"—people who were forced to run the games to survive. They realize they are far from escaping, as a woman named Mira appears on the screens to announce the start of the "Second Stage": the Face Card games.
As the hotel burns and the body count rises, Arisu is freed and confronts Aguni in the lobby. Arisu reveals his theory:
